Making it with Autism
Ann and Tina are two moms and friends who have, like many others, experienced great pain and also great joy throughout their lives. While they are far from experts in the mental health field, they have both separetely worked diligently and consistently to heal from their trauma, hurt and sometimes harsh realities that neither would have chosen for themselves. Ann and Tina will share life's journeys and discuss, discover and redefine the realities of what life brings and teaches. Through the ups and downs, Ann and Tina candidly talk about life's struggles and challenges with humor, transparency, compassion and love. Grab your favorite drink or snack and sit down with Ann and Tina as they dive into topics of trauma, pain, hope, therapy and anything in between. You are not alone. There is purpose in your pain and there is joy along the journey!
Making it with Autism
Autism and abuse
Autistic individuals can be targets as they have difficulties expressing what is really going on and they can have a hard time picking out the abuser in the room. Ann tells a story of abuse. Anyone who preys on the vulnerable and those who do not step up to help, should be held accountable. Church establishments included. To watch someone being abused and not do anything and blaming an autistic individual when the person abusing them is 20 years older, is just not ok. Here is her story.
